Can you name the shape of these earrings? Yep, trapezoid, love this shape.
To make these earrings, copper sheet metal is cut, heated, folded and hammered to create the unique designs. The trapezoids shapes are cut out of sheet metal, folded and then the edges are polished with steel wool and filed to make them smooth. Once the shape is finished , I flame paint the copper with a torch to create the colors, and then I seal them so they will not change color over time. No two are ever the same. Hammered aluminum rectangles lay on top of the copper to form a cross. To finish off these earrings, I added a beautiful square glass bead. These will definitely get noticed!
